Monitoring Your Tank

Monitoring and keeping track of your aquarium’s parameters, equipment, livestock, and maintenance is paramount to keeping a successful reef (or any type) tank. But how do you keep track of all those numbers? How can you manage all that data over time and then use it to spot trends, head off problems, and best manage maintenance tasks? You can of course keep a log book and this was (and still is) a default tracking method for many years. But if you are considering bringing your tank documentation and monitoring into the 21st century, you might be wondering what ‘electronic record’ keeping options are out there.
